How does physical inventory work with Docusnap 6.0 in practice?

The physical inventory process is triggered simply, easily and manually in Docusnap 6.0. Filter and logging settings are made by means of scan settings guided by wizards.

The physical inventory process is automatically started on defined days or times using a schedule.

The logging of the data from systems in the network is also possible on the basis of a script. This script variant for network components, which are only connected to the company network at irregular intervals (such as notebooks), is particularly useful. Such components run the risk of escaping standard physical inventories.

Using script-based logging, Docusnap 6.0 stores the output data in a directory defined by the customer. From this directory, the stored data is automatically imported into the central Docusnap 6.0 database over the Docusnap Server.

After the conclusion of the actual physical inventory, Docusnap 6.0 automatically visualizes the logged values in the output format selected by the customer.

Version comparison, archival and delete features of the individual network scan are available.

Full-text search guarantees the quick discovery of inventoried systems. If systems cannot be logged by the physical inventory, they do not have to be excluded, but can be manually added into the Docusnap 6.0.

Furthermore, it is possible to compare the computers registered in Docusnap 6.0 with the current accounts present in Active Directory. This feature is particularly useful, if inactive computer accounts were removed by maintenance procedures from the domain controller.

Systems, which are logged by the Docusnap 6.0 physical inventory process, can be entered manually.

What I like most about Docusnap is the way it collects information. A wealth of data is quickly available in a central software system.
